Having a wedding in Beach, North Carolina

Few wedding sights are as visually stunning as North Carolina beach weddings. Think of the silouette of bride and groom hand in hand, being joined in matrimony by their officiant as the sun sets over the North Carolina coast. The light of nearby torches holds back the coming darkness while friends and family watch from perfectly arranged rows of pristine white chairs. If this sounds like your idea of a wedding, then check out our list of North Carolina coastal vendors for help in planning and preparing.

Some of the most popular locations chosen for beach weddings are areas such as the Outer Banks, Crystal Coast, Topsail Area, Cape Fear, and the Brunswick Region. Here's a quick look at them:

The Outer Banks are a group if wind-swept barrier isles that stretch a full 130 miles down the scenic North Carolina coast. In this stretch are many historic landmarks and national parks. Check out the official Outer Banks Visitors Bureau if you'd like some nice pictures and more info.

The Crystal Coast is sometimes called the Southern Outer Banks and features a variety of different beaches to suit your taste. The Crystal Coast also boasts great fishing and locations for water sports, from kayaking to parasailing. Plenty of shopping, historic locations, and an aquarium mean that there's plenty to do at the Crystal Coast in addition to enjoying the beach. The Crystal Coast Tourism Authority provides more details.

If you're just looking for some peace and quiet after your wedding, then consider visiting the Topsail area. The 26 mile long island is the perfect place for a laid back, lazy honeymoon after all the hours of hectic planning! Once you're recharged by the crashing waves and bright sun, you can make the short trip to Topsail Turtle, the Greater Topsail Area where you can golf, learn about pirates, check out local festivals, and more. Two sites to check out for more details the Onslow County Tourism website and the Pender County Tourism website.

The Cape Fear Coast has a great variety of activities, offering something for everyone. Beautiful beaches, fine dining, loads of shopping, art galleries, museums, water sports, and the list goes on and on. The Cape Fear Coast is a bit busier than other regions of the North Carolina coastline, such as the aforementioned Crystal Coast, and makes a great place to get married or honeymoon. Check out the Cape Fear Visitors Bureau for more details.

The Brunswick Region is made up of five islands, and is a golf-lovers paradise with over 35 courses to choose from. As with all coastal Carolina areas, a rich history surrounds everything in sight. World-reknowned seafood, popular bird-watching hotspots, and a maritume museum are some of the other local delights that many a tourist enjoy while staying in Brunswick. The Brunswick County Tourism department has more info.
