Something that you will want to do, without a doubt, is to hire a wedding photographer so that you can always have something to look at years down the road and use to remember your wedding day.

There are different pictures that the wedding photographer will take: before the wedding, during the wedding, after the wedding, during the reception.

Before the wedding

Most of the wedding photographers will go to the home of the bride to get pictures of her and her bridesmaids prior to the wedding, of her with her family, and of course, pictures of her by herself.

These pictures are both taken inside and out, and if you have pictures that you want to be taken you can talk to your wedding photographer about it.

During the wedding

There's no doubt that you will want to have pictures of the event itself, so your wedding photographer will, of course, take pictures during the ceremony. There are moments during the ceremony that just can't be replicated.

After the wedding

Now is the time when your wedding photographer will gather all of the relatives together to have family pictures taken. It's not unusual for an elderly relative to pass away after a wedding, so there have been lots of people who have said how glad that they were that they took the time to have those pictures taken. The truth is, you never know what might happen and you want to take the time and preserve the moment while you can.

During the reception

Along with all of the candid shots that your wedding photographer will be taking, expect that they will be taking pictures of the first husband/wife dance, the father/daughter dance, the mother/son dance, the bridal party dance, the toast, the cutting of the cake, and the tossing of the bouquet.

Of course if there are specific shots that you would like your wedding photographer to take, make certain that you let them know. After all, you are paying this person to take your wedding pictures and you don't want to look back on that day with regret because you didn't get a picture taken that you wanted.

Speak up and tell your photographer exactly what you are looking for, and make certain that you are satisfied that he or she knows what you expect prior to the day of the wedding.
